Concept UX/UI assessment project demonstrating my ability to translate a brief into intuitive, user-centred design solutions through thoughtful research, clear structure, and polished visual execution.
Overview
Street Bites is a fictional gourmet food truck that moves between locations and caters for events. This project focused on designing a responsive digital experience that captures the brand’s bold personality while enabling users to easily find the truck, explore the menu, and book it for private or corporate events.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was to create a clear and engaging user experience for a mobile business with constantly changing locations. Users needed quick access to key information (where the truck is, what’s on the menu, and how to book it) without friction or confusion, all within a visually compelling interface.
The goals
The goal of this project was to design a user-friendly, engaging digital experience that clearly communicates the brand while enabling customers to easily find information and complete key actions.
Create a clear and engaging user experience that communicates the food truck’s offering at a glance
Enable users to quickly find key information, including current location and menu
Design a simple, intuitive booking flow for events and catering enquiries
Ensure the interface is responsive and visually appealing across devices

The approach
My approach to the UI/UX design centred on creating a seamless, user-focused journey by identifying the core user needs (quickly finding the truck’s location, exploring the menu, and booking for events) and structuring the experience around these key actions.
I prioritised clear information hierarchy and intuitive navigation to ensure users could move effortlessly through the site, while using bold, personality-driven visuals and copy to reflect the brand’s energetic, street-food identity.
The design balances function and storytelling, with responsive layouts that maintain clarity and usability across devices, and a streamlined booking flow that reduces friction and encourages conversion.

Final Outcome
The final solution is a cohesive, user-centred digital experience that brings the Street Bites brand to life while enabling users to seamlessly move from discovery to action. The design successfully balances strong visual storytelling with intuitive functionality, making it easy for users to engage with the brand and complete key tasks.
Key design decisions
Location-first experience: A calendar-based layout highlights the truck’s movement, making it easy for users to see where and when to find it
Simplified booking flow: A minimal, well-structured form reduces friction and improves usability
Brand-driven UI: Bold copy and visual hierarchy reflect the vibrant, street-food personality of the brand
Mobile-first thinking: Layout and spacing are optimised for smaller screens to ensure clarity and ease of use
Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to translate a brief into a clear, user-focused experience while balancing brand expression with usability. It reinforced the importance of prioritising core user actions early in the design process and highlighted how thoughtful structure and hierarchy can significantly improve the overall user journey.
